Founded in 1975 by longtime friends Kurt Link and Helmut Schmidt Sr., S&L Realty began as a boutique firm dedicated to delivering exceptional service in the acquisition and management of investment properties.
Today, that same vision continues through S&L Property Management, which proudly oversees a diverse portfolio of buildings and provides homes for more than 700 residents across San Francisco.
Our mission is simple: to combine comprehensive management and maintenance services with a genuine commitment to residents and property owners alike. President
Robert Link joined the company in 1993 as a property manager and later became a principal in 2005. He currently oversees the daily operations of S&L Property Management LLC, a property management company and S&L Real Estate Inc., a sales and services brokerage. Robert is San Francisco native who grew up in the West Portal area, having attended St. Ignatious College Preparatory and graduated San Francisco State University with Bachelor of Science degree in International Business in 1995.
With over 30 years of experience, he has successfully completed 115+ sales transactions, totaling more than $135 million. His track record includes navigating highly complex deals, from challenging building conditions to tenant-related obstacles, always delivering results for his clients.
Robert currently holds the CA Bureau of Real Estate broker’s license #01200902 and the California Certified Residential Manager (CCRM) designation from the California Apartment Association. Robert is dedicated to superior service to all clients and residents.
Today, the property management aspect of the business has expanded to over 350 units and is growing. S&L Property Management LLC maintains active membership in various local and state trade groups including the San Francisco Apartment Association (SFAA), Professional Property Managers Association (PPMA) and San Francisco and CAlifornia Board of Realtors (SFAR) (CAR). Robert is currently serving his 20th yeary on the board of directors of SFAA with 4 of years as past President 2010-2014.
Robert is also actively involved in the sales and brokerage sector focused in San Francisco and Oakland representing buyers, sellers, and investors both ethically and diligently in the pursuit of the perfect new home, residential investment property, and add value project. He has completed over 100 sales transactions and $115M in total transaction dollars.

The accounting team of BCI Accounting handles all payable and receivables at S&L PM. Monthly P&L reports are generated and distributed to our management clients in easy to read Quickbooks format. BCI also handles all quarterly gross receipts tax calculation, CCSF business license filings, and year end 1099 issuance for all vendors. They have a thorough understanding of the property management business model and we have been working with them for over 12 years!
