S & L Realty started in 1974 as a partnership between two brokers, Helmut Schmidt and Kurt Link. Both were working as agents for a Richmond District brokerage when they decided to open an office together with the intent to provide superior sales representation for buyers and sellers.
In 1993, Robert Link joined the company to facilitate the responsibilities of property manager and currently oversees the daily operations of S&L Realty in both sales and building management. Robert currently holds the CA Department of Real Estate salesperson license and the Certified Residential manager (CCRM) designation from the California Apartment Association. Robert became a general partner in the firm in 1998 and is dedicated to continued excellent service to all clients and residents.
Today, the property management aspect of the business has expanded to over 250 units and is still growing. S&L Realty maintains active membership in the San Francisco Apartment Association (SFAA) and San Francisco Board of Realtors. Robert is currently serving as the president of the SFAA, a landlord interest group that works to maintain the rights and entitlements of landlords to earn a reasonable rate of return in ownership of multi-unit apartment buildings.
